KING LEAR Scores Again

KING LEAR kept his owners happy when he won by two lengths at Bathurst on the 6th June. Ridden patiently by Adam Hyeronimus, KING LEAR was able to take a gap at the 300m mark and then race away to score an effortless win.

KING LEAR took some decent form into the Bathurst race. He broke his maiden status when he won at Mudgee by 5 lengths on the 6th May. Two weeks later he finished seventh at Newcastle in a slowly run race not suited to back markers. He gave the leaders over ten lengths at the halfway mark before coming home with the quickest final 600m of the race to only lose by 4.3 lengths.

At Bathurst he opened up at $5.50 and was well backed into $3.70 at the jump.

Coming from barrier 1 and having the luxury of a rails run, Hyeronimus rode The KING just off the speed in third place. When entering the home straight, the gap opened up on the outside of him and with a couple of cracks with the whip he put paid to the field in the space of 100m.

That win brings KING LEAR’s record to two wins from four starts and over $40,000 in prize money and bonuses.
